Hiwot is, literally, the first hair stylist who had cut and colored my hair beautifully in decades. I have been going to Hiwot for over 7 years now and Hiwot has been with me through major journeys and hairstyles! I have received blowouts, trims, haircuts, hair coloring, hairstyling and even natural curl hairstyles. Her skill has range! And even through my cancer treatment times, she was knowledge, thoughtful and compassionate when it came to how my hair would react and helped to maintain my healthy hair.

What's also important for me is her studio. The way her studio is set up at Symmetry, you know you're not waiting long, it's quiet and very comforting. It makes you feel like you're the only one there and that's important when it comes to my hair. I feel she's only focused on me and not 5 clients at a time.

I’ve been going to Hiwot for years, and she’s absolutely amazing! She’s so caring and goes above and beyond. She is very talented with color, and really listens to what you want. She always keeps my hair healthy and looking great. Whether it’s straight or curly styles like flexirods etc she’s got it. She’s also super quick without ever making it feel rushed. The best curly Hair stylist in the area. I’ve been seeing Hiwot since 2016 for hair coloring and curly hair cut styles. She is very professional and I love that she works on all textures for hair and most importantly cares about the health of your hair first! She’s vocal about how to do the least amount of damage to your hair when coloring it and I love that she cuts my hair while in it’s natural state, which allows me to see what the cut will look like and how my curls will shrink. She never cuts too much and always works her way to make sure she achieves the style YOU want. Her prices are reasonable and for me as someone who has tried to cut corners when it comes to hair coloring and styling cuts it’s worth the professional expertise and experience. Yay, Hiwot!! I've found you again, and I'm so happy! Ladies, Hiwot, formerly of Salon Revive in DC, now has her own studio within a salon in Bethesda, Maryland; the salon is Symmetry Salon Studios. Hiwot is still just as pleasant and humble as ever, and even though she's an expert with all types of hair, she's simply a whiz with curly hair that many do not know how to handle.
